Experience
Growing up in Manhattan, David was exposed to various neighborhoods from a young age. He attended high school in the Bronx, the Fieldston School (Riverdale), and enrolled in the New York University Stern School of Business in the Village. Fully immersed in the rich music culture of New York City, David pursued his love for music and took an internship with Columbia Records. Eventually, he landed himself at an independent startup called Def Jam Recordings, learning the ins and outs from founder and NYU alum Rick Rubin and his partner Russell Simmons while working with their all-star roster of rap artists like RunDMC, the Beastie Boys, Slick Rick and Public Enemy.
His success soon found him hired away as the Director of A&R at Mercury Records, where he signed major acts like The Black Sheep and managed the careers of many others. After working with producer Dallas Austin, who produced the first Boyz II Men album, and artist Vanilla Ice at EMI Records, David moved into an executive marketing role in the video gaming industry. He worked closely with several very successful video game publishers and learned first-hand the hugely successful marketing and advertising strategies of the most successful game franchises in the video gaming industry. Strategies that helped Grand Theft Auto V gross $800 million in revenue within the first 24 hours of its release.
With this extensive experience handling major projects, David Gossett provides buyers and sellers options that make sense for them, handling each case with the attention and care it deserves.
Above all else, David dedicates himself so that, in the city that never sleeps, his clients can rest easy.
Outside of work, David is a member of the United States Golf Association and keeps busy playing golf as often as he can. He can also be found taking his dog for an off-leash stroll in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park as a member of the Fellowship for the Interests of Dogs and Their Owners (FIDO) fidobrooklyn.org, NYC’s largest off-leash community.
